Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to use Scouttt, and by using it you confirm that you are. Scouttt encourages real-world exploration. You are solely responsible for your own safety: obey all laws, traffic rules and signage, respect private property and protected areas, be aware of your surroundings, and never enter dangerous or restricted places to complete an activity.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information, do not share your account, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

You agree not to: falsify or spoof your GPS location or check-ins; cheat, exploit or manipulate the in-game economy; reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or its servers; harass, abuse or impersonate others; upload illegal, infringing, hateful, sexual or otherwise harmful content; or use Scouttt for commercial purposes without our written permission.

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload (such as photos, captions and collectibles). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content within and for the operation of Scouttt. You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that breaches these Terms. Moderation is partly automated and may occasionally make mistakes; contact us to request human review.

The Scouttt app and its content — including the Scout avatar, badge artwork, quest narratives, design and branding — are owned by or licensed to the operator. The "Scouttt" name and logo are our trademarks. Map and place data sourced from OpenStreetMap and Wikidata remain subject to their own licences (for example "© OpenStreetMap contributors"). You may not copy, reproduce or distribute our content without permission.

Gems are a virtual in-app currency. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not transferable. Gems and any subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are also governed by those stores' terms. Purchases are generally final; refunds, where available, are handled by Apple or Google under their policies and by mandatory consumer law. You may also earn gems by choosing to watch optional rewarded ads, which are served by Google AdMob. We may change gem pricing, packages, ad rewards or availability at any time.

You explore at your own risk. Do not use Scouttt while driving or operating a vehicle, and always prioritise your safety over completing an activity. We are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage you may suffer while travelling to or visiting any location.

Scouttt is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and limit our liability for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.

Scouttt relies on third-party services (including Apple, Google, Cloudflare and others described in our Privacy Policy) that are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for those third-party services.

You may stop using Scouttt and delete your account at any time from Settings → Manage Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service and its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you enjoy under the law of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the courts of Cyprus, again without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the date above and, for significant changes, notify you within the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
